A safe space to heal, grow and  find balance.

About

I am Yana Bilyk, a psychotherapist and Registered Social Worker in the province of Alberta.

I work with adults and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, identity challenges, and the impacts of past and present traumas.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary and a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies from the National University of Ostroh Academy in Ukraine. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma. My work is particularly informed by my experience supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma and intergenerational trauma, as well as those from immigrant and culturally diverse backgrounds.

Outside of my private practice, I work with Alberta Health Services and Recovery Alberta as a psychotherapist in a community mental health and addictions clinic.

I provide therapy in both English and Ukrainian, offering a space where clients can communicate in the language that feels most natural and authentic to them.

Quotes That Guide My Practice

“Perhaps the most "spiritual" thing any of us can do is simply to look through our own eyes, see with eyes of wholeness, and act with integrity and kindness.”

Jon Kabat-Zinn

“As long as you keep secrets and suppress information, you are fundamentally at war with yourself…The critical issue is allowing yourself to know what you know. That takes an enormous amount of courage.”

Bessel van der Kolk

"As we become aware of ourselves as storytellers we realize we can use our stories to heal and make ourselves whole."
